ABOUT OUR WAX
Our wax is a proprietary house blend made from paraffin waxes, combined with high quality fragrance oils.
It is soft enough to cut with a butter knife or wax cutter, yet hard enough to maintain and hold its shape.
CURE TIME
Our wax is fully cured and ready to melt when you receive it. No additional cure time is necessary, however generally speaking, scented wax will strengthen over time. To cure wax simply means to allow it to age and strengthen
WAX MELTERS/WARMERS
Wax warmers do matter, and may impact your melting experience. Not all wax warmers are created equal. Although all warmers will melt wax, lower wattage warmers may not get hot enough to adequately "throw", or disperse the scent. Higher wattage warmers will produce a stronger scent throw for a shorter period of time, while the lower wattage warmers will produce a lighter scent throw for a longer period of time.
Based on personal experience, our wax works best when melted in a 20 watt or higher electric hot plate style warmers, or a tea light warmer. Personal preference, and what works best in our home is a 24 watt hot plate warmer with a wide, round shallow bowl.
Air flow and warmer placement may also impact scent throw. For optimal scent performance, try moving your warmers to various locations, preferably away from ceiling fans and A/C vents if possible.
The amount of wax added to the warmer may also impact your melting experience. For best performance, we suggest starting out with approximately .5 to .7 ounces, and go from there. If too much wax is added to the warmer, it may prohibit the wax from getting hot enough to disperse the scent.

Not all scents will be available during each opening - scents will be recycled in and out based on season, polls/votes, requests, oil availability, etc.
TURN AROUND TIME (PROCESSING TIME)
The turn around time will vary and will be specific to each type of opening (mystery boxes, samplers, RTS restocks, preorders, etc.)
- Preorders: 7-8 weeks
- RTS & Mystery boxes: 7-10 business days
SHIPPING
All orders are shipped via USPS priority mail (includes tracking), to the mailing address provided during check-out.
Tracking information will be emailed to the email address provided during checkout once your order is ready to go.
Shipping times are in accordance with USPS, and the expected delivery date provided by USPS is not guaranteed.
Because this is a very small business, we are unable to compete with the large online shipping giant prices. Shipping prices are based on current (2023) actual USPS shipping rates, which are determined by the total product weight and destination (from our zip code in AZ to yours).
In the event that shipping costs are over-charged, and/or your order can safely fit in a smaller box, the portion of shipping costs in excess of $2.00 above the actual shipping cost will be refunded back to you.
All orders are carefully packaged to prevent damage. Please understand that once your package is accepted by the post office, we have no control over how it is handled beyond that point. This includes packages that may be delayed, lost, stolen, or damaged in transit, however we will certainly do our best to help resolve any issues.
We currently only ship to US mailing addresses.
COMBINING ORDERS
If you forget something and want to place an additional order, we will automatically combine your orders for you, as long as the order name/address matches.
The final shipping charge will be based on the overall total cost to ship (combined total weight of product, and destination). Any excess shipping overage will be refunded once your order is packed and ready to ship.
LOCAL PICKUP
If you are local (Gilbert, AZ) and wish to make arrangements for porch pick up, please use the code LOCAL PICKUP to bypass shipping charges during the checkout process
WEATHER CONDITIONS
Due to the nature of wax, it may soften and/or melt during transit. If this should occur, allow your wax to cool and harden. It will be perfectly functional for melting and use, and is not considered a damaged item.
CONCERNS
We take great pride in our products and want you to be happy with your order.
Scent and strength is personal and is very subjective, therefore returns will not be accepted if a scent/strength is not to your liking. Detailed scent descriptions are available for review. If you are unsure about a scent, please feel free to ask for additional information.
If you have other concerns with your order, please contact us and allow us to work with you and attempt to resolve the situation. Each situation will be handled on a case by case basis.
Refunds are only offered if an item has not yet been poured.
ABOUT ME
I started making wax in 2010 out of a passion for all things scented. I love crafting, creating, and a wonderful smelling home. I find that scented wax can impact mood through scent memory, and being able to enjoy a variety of different scents all year long is icing on the cake. After years of making wax for personal use, Dessa's Homespun Scents officially launched in 2014.
This is a very small operation based out of my home in a dedicated wax workspace. I also work a full-time job, so my openings are limited in product and frequency
